GRADES IN KINDERGARTEN

GRADES IN KINDERGARTEN

Students receive Progress Reports after the first 4 weeks of each quarter to show you how they are doing and areas to improve on.  Students will also receive a Report Card at the end of each quarter in the school year.
Grades are assigned by numbers:

3- Doing an Outstanding Job!
2- Working Hard to Meet Expectations!
1- Struggling to Meet Expectations!

(Grades in K  are also assigned for Behavior and Participation)
(The major areas of learning in K are Math, Reading, and Writing) We also have grades and projects for Science and Social Studies based on our learning standards.   Not all activities will be graded.  Students will be assessed about every 10 days in a variety of standards to determine strengths/weaknesses and support needs.  Students in K will be doing sounds, letters, sight words, CVC words, blends, and sentence dictation over time during our year.  REMEMBER:  The more nightly support you provide the more confidence your child will feel.  Less stress is ALWAYS BEST! :)  WE WANT TO SEE THEM SOAR!
